Help for disabled persons: Schöneck and Vellberg

Establishment for people with mental or multiple disabilities

The field of help for people with disabilities at the Diak includes three establishments in Schwäbisch Hall and in Vellberg, which provide residential care for the disabled, mainly mentally disabled adults. In a total of 20 groups, the age of the men and women living in these establishments presently ranges from 22 to 92 years.

Complementing the different forms of residential care, the day room area offers individualised ways of occupation and organisation for each resident.

By co-operating with a 'Beschützende Werkstätte' (sheltered workshop) and the special school run by another establishment, we can also accompany people working in such a workshop or required to attend school.

A decided focus of our work is on accompanying people who, beside a mental disability, also suffer from a physical or sensory disability, as well as the support of elderly people with mental disabilities in organising their lives.

Irrespective of the degree of disability or the age of the person, our main goal is to enable the people to lead their lives individually
